ABC Radio Competition
Packed in like Sardines the band waited patiently in silence to have their few moments of fame. For some the nerves were skyrocketing as this was a new experience but the experienced in the band lead the way.
After the introductions the band warmed up with Killing me softly adding the sweet sound of Jasmine Rae’s voice that gave an extra touch to the music. The judges were then introduced and double B flat tubas picked on. The band continued by playing Tocatta in D which lifted the roofs of the ABC studio as high as they can go. Stewart McCorkell then played Misty and the band supported him beautifully. There were some more discussions on double B flat tubas and then the band went out with a bang playing When Johnny Comes Marching Home.
The band retired to Curly Joe’s for a meal and celebrations. They can not wait to play on the 8th of June for an audience and the chance to win back the trophy that now looks even better thanks to our double B flat tuba player Anthony McAuley.
