MCB performs live on ABC radio

Wally and Michael visit ABC radio studios
Late last year the Moreland City Band was invited to perform live on the evening radio show hosted by Australian Broadcasting Commission's (ABC) Derek Guile.
Taking a break from its normal rehearsal schedule the band packed into one of the ABC's recording studios at Southbank. As well as a number of seasonal favourites such as Jingle Bells and Christmas Swingalong the band performed a march written in honour of the famous Australian composer Robert McAnally and a tenor horn solo of the Hoagy Carmichael tune Georgia on My Mind.
The performance was a great success and the ABC has subsequently expressed interest in inviting the Moreland City Band and other Melbourne-based brass bands to play live in 2005.
The band also took the opportunity to video the broadcast. Inhouse multimedia gurus Patrick (Trombone) and Michael Stapleton (EEb Bass) subsequently mixed these clips with video of tenor horn soloist Vikki Henderson taken later overlooking Melbourne's Yarra River to produce the band's first music video. The video and music recorded during the broadcast can be downloaded from the Jukebox page of this website.
